Information we collect

Depending on how you use Rixel, we may collect:

  • account information from your sign-in provider, such as your name, email address, and provider account identifier;
  • repository, project, and connected-service information that you choose to make available for a scan;
  • scan inputs, findings, fixes, feedback, and other content you send through the service;
  • technical information such as device, browser, approximate usage, and diagnostic data needed to operate and protect Rixel.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, provide scans and connected features, save your projects and findings, communicate with you about the service, prevent abuse, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, and improve Rixel. We use information only as needed for these purposes and as otherwise permitted by law.

Connected services

If you connect GitHub or another provider, Rixel processes the data and permissions made available through that connection to perform the action you request. The provider may independently collect and use information under its own privacy policy. You can manage or revoke a connection through the provider or the controls provided in Rixel.

When information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, and operate Rixel; with connected providers when needed to perform your request; or when required to comply with law, protect people and systems, or enforce our terms. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legitimate business and legal needs, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can choose which providers and repositories to connect, revoke connected permissions, and stop using Rixel at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. Contact the Rixel team through the support channel available with your account to make a request.

Cookies and similar technologies

Rixel may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and basic service operation. Your browser settings may let you control some of these technologies, although disabling necessary cookies can affect the service.

Children

Rixel is intended for professional and general-audience use. It is not directed to children who are not permitted to use online services under the laws that apply to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate.
